Creating the intention
This article will give some insight into how to manifest by laying out the steps you should perform and what to expect to happen. First, you must have clear about what you want to manifest. This should be written down to fix it in you mind and act as a reference. One way to start is through meditation. Put yourself into a very relaxed state of mind, and implant the new intention in your mind by concentrating on it for at least sixty seconds. Meditation is nothing complicated however much magic is woven around the subject. Just do a few minutes of deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation.
Imagine your intention visually, in your mind’s eye, Picture what your life will be like once the intention has already manifested. Inject a lot of positive emotion into these visualizations as well. Emotions are a vital factor in manifesting; it is not just the words or images you see. If you cannot create strong positive emotions, then there is no real desire. In that case either drop or alter the intention. Intentions without desire have very little power to manifest. If you do not really want it, there is no point in intending it. For example, intending something you do not feel passionate about and do not care enough about will never work.
Alpha reflection
Usually within twenty four to seventy two hours of putting out a new intention, you may experience the first alpha reflection. This is the validation that the intention has taken hold. This normally takes the form of a very noticeable synchronicity. Sometimes the synchronicity is part of manifesting the results; other times it just seems to be an acknowledgement that the intention was received. For instance, if you intend to gain money you may find some extra small amounts of money on the ground. Do not get to hung up on the small amounts as concentrating on these will bring more of just that – small amounts. Just show appreciation and move on.
If the intention has not actually manifested yet it is simply the universe’s way of saying, “Thanks, got the message!”
Interestingly, the more you trust and expect your intentions to manifest, the weaker the alpha reflections are (in terms of their magnitude). This may be partly because after a period of practicing you have grown so accustomed to working with intention and manifestation that you do not need to be strong validation anymore. Just trust it. You may still see the alpha reflections, but they aren’t normally such a jolt.
Calm before the storm
The alpha reflection normally dies down very quickly, and then there is a lull that can last anywhere from several days to several weeks. This period may frustrate you because you think the intention has totally fizzled out. Many of people give up during this time. Big mistake! This is just the calm before the (good) storm. It is also the period where it is most crucial to continue holding the intention and to carefully avoid putting out conflicting intentions. If you start harboring thoughts like, “Why is this not working?” or “I wonder if this will work,” you will kill the intention. You must be convinced it will work. Sometimes you may need to kill intentions on purpose during this time when you realize you do not really want them or if you think of something better to intend. No problem the universe understands. It may take years of practice to develop the mental discipline to control your thoughts well enough to stay focused on what you want, and not allow myself the luxury of contemplating what you do not want. It is difficult at achieve perfection, but you must persist in your efforts, and it makes a significant difference. Life is a learning experience.
Beta reflection
As you continue to hold the intention and faithfully expect its manifestation, you will eventually experience the beta reflection. Typically this begins more than a week after the intention has first formed in your mind. Whereas the alpha reflection is just an acknowledgement that the intention has been received, the beta reflection is the substantial beginning of the real manifestation.
The beta reflection is much longer, stronger, and slower than the alpha reflection. Imagine a thunderstorm. If the alpha reflection is a lightning flash, the beta reflection is the rolling thunder that arrives much later. Both originated with the same event, but they reach you at different times.
The beta reflection generally arrives in three distinct forms: ideas, opportunities, and resources.
First, you may experience a noticeable surge in ideas related to your original intention. These ideas may come in the form of spontaneous inspiration, or they may arrive through other people. For example, you might get a new optimisation idea for your business that takes only twenty minutes to implement and instantly boosts your income. Sometimes a good idea is all you need to manifest what you want, so you can carry it to completion on my own. But if the intention is big enough, then ideas and direct action won’t be enough by themselves.
The beta reflection also brings new opportunities. Often these seem to come out of nowhere. Someone you do not even know may bring you an opportunity related to your intention, even though you haven’t told anyone about it yet?
Finally, the beta reflection brings new resources, which may include information, people, money, situations etc. Whatever is required to manifest the intention eventually comes into your life. Often you may experience three or more random people recommending the same book to you on the same day, that book will just happen to contain exactly the answers you need to manifest your intention.
It is still important to continue holding the intention during the beta reflection, but it is not as difficult as during the pre beta lull after the alpha period because now you have some genuine momentum. It doesn’t require as much faith to see that the intention is starting to manifest, it is moving out of the realms of the subconscious mind and the logical mind is able to see the manifestation coming together. The main thing is to keep your logical mind from sabotaging it by trying to control the process too much. Hands off.
Depending on the complexity of the intention, the beta reflection can last for months or years. In fact, our overall results in life can be interpreted as the long-term summation of our beta reflections from a lifetime of intentions. Whatever you imagine with enough energy will eventually manifest (good or bad). If your thoughts are clear and focused, you willl manifest your desires relatively quickly and easily. If your thoughts are jumbled and chaotic, you willl manifest a seemingly random and haphazard life for yourself.
If your life has descended into the jumbled and chaotic it will take more effort on your part, but the situation is recoverable. The sooner you realise this and start aligning your thoughts to be clear and focused the easier it will be.
Manifestation
With the expansion of the beta reflection, the ultimate manifestation comes together in a fairly straightforward manner. Usually there is some form of direct action involved, but the actions that follow are smooth, flowing, and easy. No tedium or struggle is required. The universe does most of the work. The final combination of ideas, opportunities, and resources are high leverage, making it possible to achieve fantastic results with a minimal investment of time and energy.
The intention-manifestation process may just a curiosity to you. You may be really good at creating alpha reflections, but that is it, you do not get betas. You may be frustrated because you cannot manage to stay focused on your desires long enough. You may keep falling back into old thought patterns and inadvertently kill off your best intentions within a matter of days, sometimes within a matter of hours. You may think about building a business and then worry about how you are going to manage it. Face that when it happens. You may think about improving your marriage and then have thoughts about breaking up. You may think about moving to a better home and later imagine renewing your existing lease. These are natural simple slips but very effective at sabotaging your intentions. It is incredibly frustrating to be betrayed by your own thoughts.
One of the keys is to fully accept that staying focused on your desires is absolutely critical, not optional. Regardless of whether you think the universe is objective or subjective, you must realise that your dominant thoughts are the key determinants of results in life. Your thoughts control your decisions, and your decisions over time control your results. When you really understand that, you will assume a new level of responsibility for every thought that goes through your mind. Take conscious control of your thoughts no matter what. You can no longer afford to have your mind haphazardly dwelling on things you did not want.
You must nurture a tremendous respect for the power of intention and keep experimenting with it. You will eventually see abundant evidence that something very powerful is happening behind the scenes. You will achieve your goals more easily than ever before. Performing more meditation and thinking takes a lot less than direct action. Do what feels most natural to you, and it will just work out perfectly. Allow the universe to handle most of the details while you focus on the high-level outcomes. You do not have to get involved in the detail.
Spend about thirty minutes a day just holding your intentions and letting them swirl around in your imagination. Then sit back and watch my external reality shift little by little to come into alignment with these intentions. The cumulative effect will blow you away.
Use SMOG, not MOSG
When you are first learning to drive a car, your instructor may teach you the acronym SMOG, which stands for Signal, Mirror, over the shoulder, Go. It is the order of actions to perform when changing lanes on the highway. Note that the first action is to signal your intention to change lanes. Of course, what do most people do? In practice they follow something like MOSG: Mirror, over the shoulder, Signal, Go. They first determine whether or not they can change lanes by looking for an opening. If there is no opening, they wait. They speed up or slow down to find a spot. They’re afraid that if they signal first when there is no opening, they’ll look like an idiot because no one will let them in. But the truth is that even if there isn’t an opening, many drivers will allow you an opening if you signal first. If you do not signal, the only way they can tell you want to change lanes is via telepathy. The longer you signal, even when there is no opening at first, the more pressure you build in the other drivers to let you in.
This is a great analogy for how intention-manifestation works. You have to signal (intend) first. Sometimes if you look before signalling, there just won’t be an opening. But signal anyway, and you willl create the very opening you seek.
For example, if you want a new relationship, let the universe know what you want. Signal! Do not check your mirrors first to see if there is someone available in the next lane. You willl miss way too many wonderful opportunities that way.
Do not give up!
It requires significant mental discipline to manifest both the alpha and the beta reflections of your intentions. Without the ability to stay mentally focused on what you want, noisy and conflicting mental chatter will destroy your best intentions before they have a chance to take root. It may take years of practice to develop the ability to stay focused on what you want. But the time is going to pass anyway, so you might as well put it to good use. It is helpful to simply intend to get better at manifesting. Do not give up, you can succeed, after all you are manifesting all the time so make sure it is what you want!
